Geoff Wilhelm, the principal of GW Appraisal Services, began his career in 1986 with Home Savings and Loan Corporation in Newport Beach, CA. As the Chief Residential Appraiser, he performed and reviewed multi-million-dollar appraisals of custom-built homes located on and around the South Orange County Coastline while also training and overseeing new appraisers entering the industry. In 1989, he left Home Savings and Loan to form GW Appraisal Services.
Geoff is an experienced Expert Witness specializing in Major Litigation, Divorce, and Bankruptcy cases. With extensive courtroom and lawyer consultation experience, he has frequently served as a Professional Expert Witness in various California Superior Courts.
Geoff’s experience includes providing Consulting, Appraisal Reports, Appraisal Reviews, Rental Surveys, Floor Plan Services, etc., for Current Market Values, Retrospective Date of Death / Time of Death purposes, other Retrospective uses, Prospective and Hypothetical Appraisals.
He has knowledge and experience with Estate, Probate, Trusts, Bankruptcy, IRS, Tax Assessment Appeals, Eminent Domain, and other uses requested by Property Owners, Real Estate Professionals, Attorney’s, Financial Planners, and all types of Mortgage Lenders, including Retail, Mortgage Broker/Banker, Direct, Portfolio, Wholesale, Hard Money, FHA/HUD and others. He has worked with the City of Los Angeles Planning Dept; Farmers Insurance (Lead appraiser for the 1994 Northridge earthquake and the 1993 Laguna Beach fire home disasters); Lead appraiser for the plaintiff and/or the defense of separate major Mobile Home Park litigation lawsuits throughout the years.
