We have been performing appraisal reports and appraisal reviews for over 30+ years and have been associated with Southern California Real Estate for over 45+ years. Geoff Wilhelm, as the main principal of GW Appraisal Services, began his career in 1986 with Home Savings and Loan Corporation in Newport Beach, CA as the Chief Residential Appraiser overseeing and reviewing multi-million dollar home appraisals located on the South Orange County Coastline. In 1989 he left Home Savings and Loan to form GW Appraisal Services.

GW Appraisal Services has furnished appraisal reports and reviews encompassing everything from Mobile Home / Manufactured Home, Land, New Construction, Subdivisions, Lot Splits, Condominium, Planned Unit Developments PUD, Single Family Residential, Custom Built Homes, Unique Homes, Historical Properties, Mills Act Historical Properties, Equestrian Horse property, Agricultural use, Specialty use, and Small Income producing Apartment Buildings (2 to 4 units).

Our experience includes providing Consulting, Appraisal Reports, Appraisal Reviews, Rental Survey’s and Floor Plan services for Property Owners; Date of Death / Time of Death, Estate, Probate, Trust, Bankruptcy and Divorce Attorney’s; Financial Planners; Tax Assessment Appeals; City of Los Angeles Planning Dept; Farmers Insurance (Lead appraiser for the 1994 Northridge earthquake and the 1993 Laguna Beach fire home disasters); Lead appraiser for the plaintiff and/or the defense of separate major Mobile Home Park litigation lawsuit's; FHA; HUD; Direct Lenders; Mortgage Brokers; Hard Money Lenders; and have served as a professional witness in California Superior Court on several occasions.

Our appraisers hold all levels of State of California Appraiser Licenses including “Certified General”. We have been appraising long before licensing was a requirement. Our focus has always been and always will be on our client’s needs to perform the most professional and competent appraisal services as requested.

Project: Appraise Real Estate

Comments: Geoff did the appraisal. Very professional in his approach. Explained how the appraisal process works in layman's terms. Did thorough home and lot evaluation. Explained the factors that affect an appraisal result. My neighborhood has some unusual qualities that required significant additional effort on his part. He did this without quibbling and turned down my offer to make a larger payment than he had quoted. The written appraisal was completed within the promised time frame and e-mailed as a PDF document, so it is easily printable. Geoff called before sending the report to discuss what was in it and to check if I had any questions about the result. I have absolutely no qualms about recommending him to others.

Geoff did a "Death of Date Appraisal" for me. It was an exterior inspection only and he followed all standard practices for such. He was professional, personable and answered all my questions/concerns in a timely fashion, as well as explaining up front what he would be doing to arrive at a base value for the house. He was "5 Star" all the way and I would not hesitate to use him again or recommend him to my friends.
